You choose the price you pay At Creative Engineering we believe that you are in the best position to assess the value of software for use in your business.  Choosing a fair price means that your business can be profitable, and for out part that we receive  a fair return to keep developing HighRoad so that it better meets the needs of you and our other users around the world. This is how it works: Apply for an evaluation key which will give you 30 days to make an evaluation and help you choose a fair price for you. Download HighRoad from our website and get started on some real design projects. Come back to our site again within 30 days and apply for a full license and with your suggested price based on your circumstances. The way you choose the price is entirely up to you, but if you're not certain we have some suggestions that may help you with your decision. Choose which fee is appropriate for your situation: Enterprise:  For big business and enterprise wide deployment we suggest you choose this option.  The suggested investment is $20,000.00, and you will be charged $200 now to get the full activation code and you will be invoiced for the balance, to be paid within an agreed time. Corporate: This option for for small to medium size consulting offices where HighRoad is deployed usually in one office on multiple workstations.  The suggested investment is $5500 and you will be charged $200 now to get the full activation key and we will invoice you for the balance to be paid within an agreed time. Partnership: This option for for small consulting offices where HighRoad is deployed usually in one office on multiple workstations, but usually used by one road designer with regular road design projects.  The suggested investment is $1500 and you will be charged $200 now to get the full activation key and we will invoice you for the balance to be paid within an agreed time. Sole Trader:  For a one man office, or similar small engineering office, where road design is not the mainstay of the business but occasional road design or site design projects are typical.  The suggested investment is $200 and you will be charged now to get the full activation key. Evaluation and student, and eligible others: For those in this category there is no fee for the license. Choose this option and we will send you an activation key. For student use, the time period is 1 year, and for evaluation the time is for 1 month.  Others may be eligible also.  (eg third world countries). You will be investing in your own success, for the ongoing development of HighRoad, so that as HighRoad improves, your efficency continues to improve. Other Price:  Perhaps you don't fit any of these descriptions.  Please go ahead and make a submission for the price that you think is a fair price for using HighRoad in your situation. Q. Why should I pay at all when you have a free version? A. Like any business we can only continue to create good software for you if we can pay our bills.  And to do that we need you to pay us for our work.  And for us to be able to continue to give away, or sell our software at a very low price for cash-poor users, we need those who can afford it, to pay us a fair price for the use of HighRoad.  So we'd like you to pay what you think its worth for you. Q. How do I choose fair price. A.  Our suggestion is that your consider the time savings that HighRoad will contribute to you work. If using HighRoad can save you 20 hours on a project, you might decided that 10 percent of this would be a fair contribution, and so you could allow 2 hours at your chargeout rate - say $150 per hour.  So you might choose to pay $300.00.  When you do another project you might visit our website and make another investment. Or you might figure out how much it saves you over a year, and offer a proportion of that as the license fee.  Its up to you.  Using this method it makes it fair for users in third world countries with a different economy to ours - and it means that someone in Nairobi can still afford our software, and can choose a fair price based on their economic situation. We would like to build a community of HighRoad users, and as part of doing that we want to know who you are.  We're about to provide you some software that has taken 20 years in its development and it has a lot of my life invested in it.  So the least I'd like to know is that you are a real person and have a legitimate interest in HighRoad. Before that time we will contact you about your application, and if successful will make arrangements for you to pay, and for you to get an unlimited activation key.
